Here are the key plays that helped the Washington Football Team earn a victory in Week 1.

Fabian Moreau may have saved Washington Football Team’s 2020 season late in the second quarter of the first game. Or maybe it was Ryan Kerrigan. Antonio Gibson? Ron Rivera? Everyone made big contributions to the glorious 27-17 win over the defending NFC East Champs Philadelphia Eagles in week one of the 2020 season.

Let’s not get too excited. Philly was decimated by injury, especially along the offensive line. Star right tackle Lane Johnson did not play, and fill-in tackle Jack Driscoll had to leave in the third quarter. So, let’s not book those Super Bowls flights just yet. But, just in case you were wondering, February 7 in Tampa. (Southwest and British Airways both have direct flights.)

Look, nobody but Washington fans gave the boys a chance against Philly. No matter how much you argued that this match-up, with Philly’s beleaguered offensive line, could be a lot closer than the experts predicted, it was hard to find any national prognosticator who had WFT.

And for a while, it looked like WFT was overmatched. They looked slow. They looked tentative. They looked unprepared. But then, things changed.

Let’s recap the key plays that defined the first glorious win in the Ron Rivera era.
