Bold Predictions 7-9

7. Rookie linebacker Khaleke Hudson becomes a special teams ace from day one.

Hudson records 23 tackles and recovers one kickoff fumble and two punt fumbles.  The former Michigan standout also hauls in a fake field goal reception and easily dances in for a 27-yard touchdown.  That is a very bold prediction for sure, but Hudson is going to turn a lot of heads this year.

8. Tress Way nearly breaks the single-season yards-per-punt record.

Way is one of the best punters in all of football today.  This season will be his best year ever and it will be memorable.  Look for him to average 50.8 yards per punt (not a record, but very close) with 21 of his 64 punts landing inside the 20-yard line.  Seven of those 21 punts will sail more than 50 yards.  Way will also toss a 27-yard touchdown on a fake field goal (see above).  For Tress Way, that could be considered bold, but not out of the question.

9. Ronald Darby nearly logs double-digit interceptions.

Darby has struggled with injuries since entering the league a few seasons ago.  He will enjoy an injury-free season and post nine interceptions.  He will be named to the Pro Bowl team and be selected as a second-team All-Pro player.  Darby will contribute 11 pass deflections, two sacks, one forced fumble, and 38 tackles.  After the season, the WFT will reward him with a new four-year contract.
