Washington Football Team wins offseason despite losing nickname

New leadership
Ron Rivera, at every turn, has proven to be the right man for Washington’s coaching job. His messages have been consistent and clear. His decision-making has seemed to be a perfect blend of patience and professionalism.
His apparent influence in the hiring and reorganization of the front office is encouraging. His bravery and steadfast approach to the personal challenge of cancer reveals the quality of his character in a unique and provocative way.
Having not coached a single snap in a game for the Washington Football Team, Rivera has put a positive stamp on the organization more-so than any other coach in the Snyder era.

The hirings of Julie Donaldson and Jason Wright indicate more than just the influence of Ron Rivera in Washington. They signal a true shift in the organizational structure and emphasis in the organization.
Donaldson is a professional with an impressive resume and a level of respectability and transparency within the local media that is light-years better than her predecessor. The fact that she’ll be the first woman to lead the game-day radio broadcast of an NFL franchise is simply icing on the cake.
Jason Wright’s unique blend of football and business experience sets him up to be exceptional in his new role as Team President. His public statements and interviews since the announcement of his hire certainly have done nothing to dampen enthusiasm about him coming aboard. The fact that he is the youngest Team President in NFL history, as well as the first Black Team President in NFL history are, likewise, icing on the cake.
Will those two succeed in turning the culture around in Washington’s business operations while Ron Rivera works to do so on the field? Only time will tell, but the initial signs are encouraging.
