No. 3 – Starters still ambiguous on the offensive line

Ten offensive linemen made the Washington Football Team’s initial 53-man roster, and starting spots still need to be announced at left tackle and left guard.

At those spots, there are at least five players competing for those combined two roles. Geron Christian was the starter at left tackle for most of camp, but Cornelius Lucas could still see time if Christian falters, and fourth-round rookie Saahdiq Charles might insert himself into the conversation when healthy.

At left guard, it’s still the battle of the Wes’s, with Wes Martin and Wes Schweitzer serving as the top players. But even there, Charles has some upside, and fifth-round rookie Keith Ismael could see time as well, given his versatility.

The offensive line is always one of the most important parts of a team’s NFL season, and in 2020, even after the formation of the 53-man roster, that unit still brings some question marks for the Washington Football Team. Whoever starts might not start for long, if they can’t back up the title with performance.
