2. WR Robert Foster

Robert Foster is a perfect example of a receiver Washington could target that isn’t like any of the options they currently have on the roster. The former undrafted player from Alabama is very fast, has good size, and could be a nice speed option for Washington’s offense.

During his career, Foster has averaged a whopping 20.2 yards per catch with the Buffalo Bills. He was a true burner that Josh Allen took advantage of in 2018, but he didn’t do much of anything in 2019 after the addition of some more proven receivers and nagging injuries.

Foster is a good bounce-back candidate. He’s just 26 and has logged a 27-catch, 541-yard season despite only starting three games during that campaign. In the right packages, he will be able to make noise and will require attention from opposing defenses. That could open up opportunities for Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims or just give Foster some opportunities deep.

Considering that Washington seems poised to start Dontrelle Inman as their No. 2 receiver while backing him up with Antonio Gandy-Golden (a fourth-round rookie) and Isaiah Wright (an undrafted rookie), Foster could be a nice pickup. At the very least, he will offer the team experience and speed. He should be a good backup no matter what even if that’s all he amounts to.

Of the receivers available, Foster’s skill set is one of the most unique and it’s one that Washington doesn’t have. Adding a true speedster could be nice for Dwayne Haskins to give him another type of weapon to develop a rapport with.
