Offensive Linemen

Roster Locks: Brandon Scherff, Morgan Moses, Chase Roullier, Geron Christian, Wes Martin, Keith Ismael

Really no surprises here; the offensive line is a haven for chaos this season.

Beyond the five starters — Scherff, Moses, Roller, Christian, and possibly Martin — there’s only one more lock: Keith Ismael. And part of the reason Ismael’s a lock is because he’s taken reps with the first team at left guard, so a final decision has yet to be made as to who starts at that spot.

Beyond those six, it’s an amalgamation of anarchy. Free agent acquisitions Cornelius Lucas and Wes Schweitzer have not done anything to stand out, and recent acquisitions Joshua Garnett and David Sharpe might not have enough time to make strong impressions.

Other names of intrigue, such as Timon Parris and Ross Pierschbacher, are simply buried too far down the depth chart to have any reliable chance. Parris, in particular, could sneak onto the roster given his athleticism and upside at a position of need, but very few guarantees will be handed out in this group.

Additionally, it seems that fourth-round rookie Saahdiq Charles will be a likely addition to the PUP list. He’s been battling a calf injury all through training camp, and his recovery might trickle into the regular season. It’s not anything to freak out about, but it might complicate his path to an active roster spot for the time being.
