Cornerbacks

Roster Locks: Ronald Darby, Kendall Fuller, Jimmy Moreland, Fabian Moreau

There are four easy locks at cornerback — the three players who started a good amount of games with their respective teams last year, and Jimmy Moreland. Moreland has often been the team’s starter in the slot this offseason, but they’ll likely shuffle these guys around, maybe using Fuller in the slot and Darby and Moreau on the boundaries, or Fuller at safety and the other three at cornerback.

There are a lot of combinations to entertain, but because of that, the Washington Football Team also needs solid depth at cornerback. None of the depth players are locked up yet, but Greg Stroman has the best chance. He’s reportedly been very productive in August, and he has some of the highest upside among those depth players.

Another candidate who shouldn’t be overlooked is late-offseason signee Ryan Lewis. Lewis is young, an elite athlete, and produced at a relatively high clip with the Miami Dolphins last season. He’d offer Washington good security, as well as long-term upside with his athleticism.
