Defensive Front Seven

Defensive Line

Starters: Montez Sweat, Chase Young, Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne

Backups:  Matt Ioannidis, Ryan Kerrigan, Tim Settle, Ryan Anderson, Jordan Brailford (Edge)

The WFT defensive line is definitely one of the best and deepest lines in the entire league.  Don’t be surprised if Chase Young will challenge for Defensive Rookie of the Year honors this season.  This unit is, by far, the best on the team. We can’t say it enough – the talent is that good.

Linebackers

Starters: Cole Holcomb, Jon Bostic, Thomas Davis (special teams standout)

Backups: Kevin Pierre-Louis (special teams ace), Shaun Dion Hamilton, (special teams ace and superb gunner)

The surprise here is that Reuben Foster is either cut, placed on IR, or IR with a chance to return.  He could also be traded, but that seems unlikely.  Hamilton needs to quickly improve, but his roster spot is firmly secure.  Watch for Hudson – he has the tools to be quite special.
