Outside Linebackers

Ryan Anderson has steadily improved since a shaky first season in 2017, but there is another issue to talk about. Anderson is rumored to play at defensive end this season, but outside linebacker is still much more likely. Persistent rumors about a trade before the season begins doesn’t seem too legitimate at this time and seems to be fan-driven.

Prediction for Anderson: Four sacks, 57 tackles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions with one returned for a 34-yard touchdown

Jon Bostic is likely to move to the outside in this new 4-3 alignment and should continue to be very productive in the Washington Football Team’s defense. The new regime was glad to re-sign him earlier in the offseason.

Prediction for Bostic: 71 tackles, one forced fumble, one interception

Thomas Davis never ages it seems, but he has also overcome several serious injuries over the years and always bounces back. Yes, he served a four-game suspension for performance enhancing substances in 2018, but he is still a force at age 37.

Prediction for Davis: One sack, 51 tackles, one fumble recovery

Kevin Pierre-Louis will see a lot of time on special teams and he will provide depth as an outside linebacker.

Prediction for Pierre-Louis (linebacker stats only): 16 tackles, one pass deflected
