Inside Linebackers

Reuben Foster has been waiting for more than a year to make his debut with the Washington Football Team and the fans have lofty expectations.  While it could take a bit of time for him to fully work his way into the rotation, Foster’s impact is likely to occur in the second half of the season.

Prediction for Foster:  One sack, 46 tackles, two interceptions

Cole Holcomb burst on to the scene in 2019 as an unheralded rookie, and his impact was a pleasant surprise.  Look for more of the same in 2020 and an improvement in pass coverage — a weakness for him last year.  Holcomb could move to the outside in various packages — perhaps permanently.

Prediction for Holcomb:  One sack, 92 tackles, two passes deflected, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception returned for 23 yards

Shaun Dion Hamilton has provided good depth in his first two seasons, but a logjam at inside linebacker in 2020 could limit his playing time this season.

Prediction for Hamilton:  28 tackles, two passes deflected

Khaleke Hudson will be a special teams ace, but he could take a few snaps on the inside as well.
