The performance of Washington Football Team quarterback Dwayne Haskins has been one of the most enticing storylines of the 2020 offseason.

There’s still skepticism around Dwayne Haskins nationally; the Ohio State product’s overall body of work in 2019 didn’t do enough to generate optimism on a continental scale. With that being said, however, Haskins’ 2019 conclusion, as well as his work thus far in the 2020 offseason, has fans, coaches, and teammates on the Washington Football Team bristling with excitement.

Haskins spent the quiet parts of the offseason trimming down his physique and working to gain chemistry with his receivers, and in the early parts of the Washington Football Team’s padded practices, Haskins’ work has clearly transferred over, and he’s separated himself as the top quarterback on the team.

Not every day has been perfect for the offense, but Tuesday was one of Haskins’ best days, per reports. According to Washington team reporter Zach Selby, Haskins was 13 for 13 before a pass was dropped, and in red zone drills, he threw touchdowns to tight end Marcus Baugh and wide receiver Dontrelle Inman. He also threw a touchdown to Logan Thomas in other drills.

Haskins did throw what would have been a pick-six late in the practice, as Landon Collins undercut a wheel route on the right side of the field, but Haskins stayed late with Ron Rivera and his receiver to correct the error that had been made initially. Haskins generally looks sharp, and when he doesn’t, he’s proactive in remedying inconsistencies.

Per team reporter Kyle Stackpole, Haskins’ latest strong performance is now his third in a row, and the Washington Football Team’s offense may finally be starting to gain some consistency, after starting off on a shaky note against the team’s stout defensive line.

Ron Rivera has lauded Haskins’ desire to win, as well as his personal accountability. Haskins hasn’t crumbled under the pressure placed on him, and he’s done everything possible to take advantage of his opportunity to become the team’s franchise quarterback. There’s still a long way to go, but progress is being made.

Haskins flashed potential in 2019, and now, he’s in a much more stable environment that’s far more conducive to development than the previous one. With three days of strong practices behind him, Haskins will now likely look to stack on a fourth. There can never be too many.
