Washington Football Team QB and RB stat predictions for 2020
Running Backs
Adrian Peterson is an ageless wonder. He scoffs at the suggestion to file retirement papers. His body is made of high-grade steel. Locomotives do their best to avoid an oncoming Adrian Peterson. SR-71s cannot keep pace with him. Peterson laughs at the thought of kryptonite. Okay, maybe there is an exaggeration or two here, but A.D. is the starter until proven otherwise.
Prediction for Peterson: 164 carries, 724 yards, seven touchdowns, 14 receptions, 105 yards, one touchdown
Bryce Love was no more than an afterthought prior to the legal troubles of Guice. In the world of football, anything can change in an instant. Love could produce much better statistics than we are forecasting here, but it could also be lower.
Prediction for Love: 91 carries, 426 yards, three touchdowns, eight receptions, 67 yards
J.D. McKissic will primarily serve as a receiving option out of the backfield. Could the emergence of rookie Antonio Gibson push McKissic off of the roster? Don’t bet on it.
Prediction for McKissic: Nine carries, 41 yards. 31 receptions, 261 yards, two touchdowns
Peyton Barber will see duty as a relief back. This is the one player who could be released if the Washington Football Team decides to field four running backs in 2020, but that is not an educated guess for now.
Prediction for Barber: 26 carries, 152 yards, one touchdown
Antonio Gibson had a dynamic 2019 for the Memphis Tigers, but he is a rookie. He could spend a year learning the offense and adjusting to the rigors of the NFL. However, it is entirely possible Gibson could produce a sensational first season. Let’s go with the conservative numbers for now and hope that yours truly will consume two slices of crow and humble pie. Is he the next Larry Centers?
