Round 5

In the middle of Round 5, Washington picked Alabama center/guard Ross Pierschbacher.  He played sparingly in 2019 and his individual grade will be incomplete as well.

Later in the round, the front office added North Carolina inside linebacker Cole Holcomb.

Most draft analysts considered the defensive playmaker to be an early fourth-rounder last year, but he lasted until late in Round 5 and the WFT was able to get a mild steal.  All he did was produce a sensational rookie season – 105 total tackles, one sack, and three forced fumbles.

Holcomb needs to work on his pass coverage skills, but the future looks bright for the former Tar Heel.  We will give a grade for Holcomb’s efforts only and reserve judgment for Pierschbacher until sometime in the near future.

Grade: B+
