How many of the Washington Football Team’s latest roster moves will have a big impact on the team in 2020?

Over the past few weeks, the Washington Football Team has turned over the bottom of its training camp roster. None of the individual moves are likely to have a significant impact in 2020, but considering them as a whole gives a little extra insight into how Coach Rivera is seeing the roster with the season a month away.

(NOTE: This article was written prior to the release of Derrius Guice on Friday. As you no doubt are aware, Guice was released following his arrest on domestic abuse charges. This story has already been covered in several articles on this site, published within hours of his release. A brief addendum on how this latest news figures into matters discussed here appears at the end of the piece.)

During this time, WFT has released six players, while a seventh was waived with an injury. Two have chosen to opt out of the coming season due to concerns over COVID-19. One is out for the year with an injury. And another has been placed on the Commissioner’s exempt list due to off-season legal issues. His return is possible, but cannot be counted on at this point.

During the same time period, WFT has signed four new players. Let’s take a look at what these moves might mean.
