Fabian Moreau

Experience: 4th season

Draft Status: 2017 third-round pick (81st overall)

2019 Stats: 12 games, seven starts, 44 total tackles, three interceptions, five pass deflections

2020 Outlook: Fabian Moreau‘s career with the Washington Football Team has been somewhat polarizing. The 26-year old has produced in coverage, but rarely has he found consistency. That said, he has spent a good chunk of his career in D.C. playing from the slot, an area where he wasn’t as comfortable as the boundary. He was moved from the slot to the boundary midway through last season, and he performed better in his new role.

Given his production after the move and his elite athletic parameters, Moreau should have a good chance to start on the boundary again this year. He still has yet to reach his peak, and playing in his natural spot, behind an upper-echelon defensive front, could be a situation that’s conducive to his ongoing development.

Expected Role: Moreau will be in the starting conversation no matter what, and given the lack of clear-cut options behind him, he’ll probably find himself starting on the boundary on Day 1. Moreau has the skill set to perform there, and it’s where he played throughout his college career at UCLA.

Status: Moreau is young, and has athletic upside that still has yet to be unlocked. Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio should be excited to work with him, and he’s in no danger of losing his roster spot.
