Darvin Kidsy

Experience: 3rd season

Draft Status: 2018 undrafted free agent

2019 Stats: Three games, zero catches, two tackles

2020 Outlook: Cam Sims may be more well-regarded among Washington fans than Kidsy, but it may be Kidsy who has a better shot at making the team. Kidsy is an excellent athlete who, like Sims, has been on and off the roster the past couple of seasons.

Unlike Sims, Kidsy has inside/outside versatility and showed well with Dwayne Haskins during last preseason. So, perhaps if the two can foster a connection at training camp, Kidsy can find a way onto the roster and become a quality backup.

Expected Role: Kidsy is a classic example of a versatile player who can be a great organizational depth piece if he doesn’t make the active roster. If he doesn’t make the 53-man roster to start the season, he’d be the first call-up in the event of an injury. But barring a regression, he seems likely to stick around the Washington organization.

Status: Roster bubble. Like many of the other receivers on the roster, Kidsy is just caught in a logjam among similarly skilled receivers with unproven track records. Unlike the other receivers, however, Kidsy seems likely to stick around no matter what. He’s a great insurance policy if he can’t make the team, so expect him to be with Washington beyond August, even if it is in a practice-squad role.
