2020 Outlook: Sims was one of the surprise contributors on last year’s Washington team. The undrafted free agent out of Kansas is the poster child for why the preseason matters. He was so dynamic in the exhibition contests that he made the 53-man roster. And from there, he would only continue to improve.

Sims started primarily as a special teams contributor as a kick returner and eventually took the top slot role from Trey Quinn. As the season went along, his dynamic playmaking ability was on display and he made several big plays in the last month of the season. All four of his touchdowns came in the final three weeks of the season. His arrow is pointing up and he should be a big-time receiving weapon for the team again in 2020.

Expected Role: Sims will be the starter in the slot and will continue to play on special teams. If the team finds another quick return man on the roster, perhaps Sims will play fewer snaps as a returner. But his skills as a playmaker will be valuable on offense, especially considering that Dwayne Haskins was willing to trust him.

Status: Roster lock. Sims is the second-best receiver on the Washington roster right now. That won’t inspire a lot of confidence given his unproven track record, but his upside is sky-high.
