Washington football training camp profiles: Wide Receiver
Jordan Veasy
Experience: 3rd season
Draft Status: 2018 undrafted free agent
2019 Stats: N/a
2020 Outlook: Veasy spent the final month of the 2019 season on the Washington practice squad and stuck around for the team’s coaching change. For the upcoming year, he’ll be hoping to make his case as a potential NFL player. But having not played in a game in each of his first two seasons, even making it onto a gameday roster for just one game would be a big achievement for Veasy.
Expected Role: Veasy will be among the veteran receivers challenging for a depth spot in the receiving corps. He won’t be expected to win a job at all, but that won’t stop him from trying. Washington represents the fourth team of Veasy’s NFL career, so this is probably the 6-3 California product’s last chance to catch on with an NFL squad.
Status: Practice squad hopeful. Barring a surprise, Veasy is just too far behind the other receivers on the roster to make the team. But if the team likes his size enough, he could be worth keeping around on the practice squad. That still seems like a longshot, but unexpected sleepers emerge every year. Perhaps Veasy will be that this year.
