It’s never too early to look ahead to free agency. Here’s a breakdown of the Redskins’ pending free agents for 2021.

I just wrote something about free agents. And now I’m writing something else about free agents.

SPOILER ALERT: The next two things I write after this will be about free agents. Because it’s not like there is anything else on the minds of Redskins’ fans in July of 2020, is there?

All right, this one is about the Redskins pending free agents of 2021. This list could shrink if the team and any of these players agree to a long-term extension before current contracts expire. Or it could grow should they sign a new free agent to a one-year deal this season. But we’ll just go with what we know as of today.

There are 23 players whose contracts will be up at the conclusion of the 2020 season. About 10 of them figure to start this year, or at least play significant snaps. About that same number are not on my current 53-man roster projection. And then there are a few in the middle. And I have no clue what their seasons may look like.

Let’s take a quick look at what 2020 means to these players, and what that, in turn, means to the franchise.
