Round 5

With a draft class that was stacking up to be a solid haul, the Redskins were hoping to obtain another talented player in the fifth round.  Arkansas outside linebacker Martrell Spaight was the chosen prospect in round five and his addition provided decent value.

Spaight became a special teams standout during a four year Redskins career and provided solid depth on defense.  His contributions were never elite, but he rarely made any glaring mistakes – pretty much what you can hope for in a fifth-rounder.

Since leaving the Redskins after the 2018 season, Spaight has spent some time in Miami, Jacksonville, and Kansas City.
