Round 4

In the 2014 draft, the Redskins were able to obtain great value with their fourth-round pick.  Could it happen again one year later?

The choice was Duke wide receiver Jamison Crowder and lightning did strike the same spot for the second year in a row.  Crowder provided excellent value in the fourth round and the front office scored the third solid hit in the draft thus far.

Crowder did have some difficulties as a returner, but his abilities as a receiver were superb.  Check out these stats during his four years in a Redskins uniform: 221 receptions, 2,268 yards, 14 touchdowns, 64 yards rushing.

The Redskins made a mistake in letting that kind of production walk away after his rookie contract was completed. Crowder provided excellent value and his grade would’ve been close to perfect with better special teams play.

Later in the fourth round, the Redskins had another pick via the Seahawks trade. Alabama offensive guard Arie Kouandjio was the selection and offensive line coach Bill Callahan called the Crimson Tide product the best fourth-rounder he had ever seen. Nothing could be further from the truth. Kouandjio played sparingly during his three years and had very little impact.
