Khaleke Hudson

The Khaleke Hudson pick was an interesting one in the 2020 NFL Draft, and depending on who you are, you may have either been encouraged or disappointed by the Redskins’ choice in the middle of Round 5.

Hudson has some definite positives to his game; he has good athleticism, a good feel for gap assignments and lanes to follow as the play fluctuates, and he’s also very energetic, possessing an impressive motor and fire to his game.

With that being said, Hudson also has some limitations, most notably his size. The 5-foot-11, 224-pound linebacker was pushed around a lot in the box by college offensive linemen, and in the NFL, one can only expect that process to carry on.

Hudson does have some potential as a defensive contributor, but given the Redskins’ crowded linebacker room, it seems as though Hudson’s biggest impact in Year 1 will be on special teams. That’s not a bad thing. He blocked five punts in college as a special teamer, and it could be experience that helps refine his tackling ability on defense, once a spot opens up later on.

Khaleke Hudson Prediction: 15 games, no starts, 12 tackles
