Guess who made a poor decision with that trade? That’s right, the Washington Redskins.
After trading down, the Redskins chose to select Stanford outside linebacker Trent Murphy. He was a fairly good player during his time as a Redskin, but he was never in the same class as Lawrence.
Murphy’s first three seasons were solid, but not spectacular. He was suspended for the first four games in the fourth season, but it didn’t matter as Murphy was injured in the 2017 preseason and was placed on injured reserve. He signed with Buffalo in 2018.
If we were grading on Murphy alone, it would be an above-average grade, but we must continue the practice of grading trades as well. You know where this is heading.
