Round 2

NC State cornerback David Amerson was the 51st overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft. And the Redskins brass believed they had chosen a versatile defensive gem in the second round. He had a decent rookie season and produced two interceptions, including a 45-yard pick-six against the Falcons and Matt Ryan in week four.

Amerson didn’t put up huge numbers in 2013, but he was fairly good for a rookie.  He also logged a bit of time at strong safety and had some special teams duties.

Amerson regressed a bit in 2014 and 2015 became a struggle for the former Wolfpack standout.  He was released after two games in 2015 as he was simply not performing up to expectations.  Since then, he has been with the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Arizona Cardinals, but he did spend the 2019 season out of the NFL.
