Overall

Redskins fans were genuinely excited immediately following the 2012 NFL Draft, and the 2012 season was incredible to watch. The new quarterback dazzled the league and an unknown at running back won the hearts of Redskins supporters forever. The 2012 season was spellbinding and fans were convinced that Griffin would be the franchise quarterback for many years to come.

The Alfred Morris selection in the sixth round is probably the best value pick for the Redskins over the last decade. The addition of Morris was a surprise, but he more than outperformed his draft status and this will keep the overall grade from being a failure.

It only took one play (The Griffin injury) and a few weeks of futility during the 2013 season to bring everyone back to reality. All of the rosy predictions turned out to be nothing but brown stems and prickly thorns. The Redskins put forth poor drafts in 2010 and 2011, but with this look back, 2012 was more of the same.

Grade: D
