We’re in the quietest part of the offseason, so naturally, we have to make our own noise.

The Washington Redskins had an eventful player acquisition phase, adding depth and talent in both free agency and the 2020 NFL Draft. The NFL Draft carried more intrigue, as the Redskins were in possession of the No. 2 overall pick, a caliber selection normally known for acquiring blue-chip talent. In 2019, the San Francisco 49ers used the No. 2 overall pick to select edge rusher Nick Bosa, and this year, Washington had an opportunity to select a similarly transcendent defender.

The Redskins made the pick that everyone expected, and came away with Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young. They came out of the NFL Draft with eight new players. We’ll break down each player in-depth with individual podcast episodes, but right now, it only feels right to start with the headliner: Chase Young.

You’ve heard a lot about Young’s physical abilities this offseason, and how his amalgamation of traits sets him apart from the rest of the class. But how will Young impact, and be impacted, by the interior rushers already on the Redskins’ roster? How will he impact the team’s switch to a 4-3 defensive scheme, and what kind of production might we expect from him in his first NFL season?

Those are all questions that Jacob Camenker and I sought out to discuss in our Chase Young breakdown podcast. This is the first podcast of eight to come in our series discussing each individual 2020 NFL Draft pick in-depth. To listen, and join in on the discussion, simply click the play button below!
