No. 4 – Chicago Bears WR Allen Robinson

The Redskins drafted Antonio Gandy-Golden to be a presence on the boundary, but if they have an opportunity to improve both the depth and the star power of their receiving core in 2021, they have to consider capitalizing.

The 2021 free agent wide receiver class is set to be a strong one, and Bears receiver Allen Robinson is one of the likelier departures on the list. 2020 will presumably be Robinson’s last year with the Bears, a franchise that has graced him with quarterback play from Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles.

Robinson didn’t have it any easier in Jacksonville, where he was a pass catcher for the much-maligned Blake Bortles. Robinson hasn’t been the beneficiary of good quarterback play, and yet, he’s flourished on the outside. Last season, he put up a career campaign, going for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns on 98 catches.

Robinson has a similar athletic profile to Gandy-Golden, in that he’s not overly fast, but he has a great deal of explosiveness, which he can use to create separation. Robinson is also incredibly tough and reliable at the catch point, as evidenced by his production in spite of dealing with accuracy issues from his signal caller.

Dwayne Haskins will have to take the next step in his development for Robinson to consider Washington an attractive destination, but if he does, Robinson might unite with his best passer yet.
