Week 1: Redskins vs Eagles

The season opener is always a big test for every team coming into the season to see if all the work during the offseason has paid off.

For the Redskins, there are multiple reasons why this game is extremely important to their season.

This past offseason, the ‘Skins made ample changes to every aspect of the team from the front office and coaching staff to the players on the roster. These changes will be tested early against the division winners last season.

On the Redskins schedule release broadcast, Rivera himself said he likes the challenge and it will be a great measure of where they are as a football team.

The team’s first-round pick Chase Young will also get his first taste of NFL action against a stout Eagles offensive line that ranks among the best in the NFL. If the trio of Young, Monez Sweat, and Ryan Kerrigan can get to the quarterback in Week 1 of the season, it will show how dominant this pass rush could actually be.
