Jacob’s final 2020 NFL Mock Draft: Redskins watching Browns No. 10 pick
Picks 21-24
21. Philadelphia Eagles: WR Jalen Reagor, TCU. The Eagles are probably upset that they didn’t land Justin Jefferson, but this is a strong receiver class. So, they could still take one at this spot.
My pick would be Denzel Mims. But it seems like the Eagles like Reagor a lot, at least that’s what NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein says. Maybe they envision him as having a similar impact to that of DeSean Jackson, with whom Carson Wentz has thrived. Trading down to get Reagor would probably be ideal (or trading up for a bigger-name receiver) but the Eagles need a pass-catcher badly. So, Reagor will be the pick here for now.
22. Minnesota Vikings: CB Jaylon Johnson, Utah. The Vikings probably want to land an offensive lineman and a corner with their first two picks. They lost three corners in free agency and will have to replace them as a result.
The Vikings may prefer A.J. Terrell, but he’s off the board at this point. Jaylon Johnson is probably their second-place option and he could emerge as the top corner in their defense after his strong career at Utah. If Terrell is on the board here, the Vikings could go Terrell and then an offensive lineman at 25, perhaps Temple’s Matt Hennessy. But for now, Johnson seems like their guy.
23. New England Patriots: LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma. The Patriots lost Jamie Collins, Kyle Van Noy, and Elandon Roberts in free agency. Here’s a player to help replace some of that production.
Murray is an instinctive linebacker prospect who would be an ideal fit for the Patriots’ defense. He’s a productive run stopper and is solid in pass coverage. He’d be a true, three-down linebacker like Jerod Mayo was for the squad. Getting him at 23 is a good value, so they should be ecstatic if they can get him at this juncture. And if they aren’t that excited, they could trade down and target a guy like A.J. Epenesa.
24. New Orleans Saints: LB Patrick Queen, LSU. Speaking of teams that are happy to land a linebacker, how about the Saints getting Patrick Queen here? The local product is coming off a productive career at LSU and he should fill one of the Saints’ biggest defensive holes.
With Queen playing alongside Demario Davis, the Saints’ linebacker corps would have a couple of potential three-down linebackers. That should help their defense improve and will make them an even bigger contender despite the fact that they’re in a tough division.
