Picks 13-16

13. Miami Dolphins (via SF): OT Jedrick Wills, Alabama. As much as I love the fit of Jerry Jeudy in San Francisco here, I think the 49ers will trade down. They have no picks in the middle rounds of the draft and they can afford to drop a few spots, still fill a need, but also pick up extra depth.

The Dolphins move up again and grab a tackle of the future. They like Jedrick Wills a lot and he should be a good fit. Wills played right tackle at Alabama and has unique athletic ability and footwork that should afford him the opportunity to very quickly fit in at the NFL level. He could play either tackle position for Miami and will help to protect their new quarterback.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia. The Bucs need a right tackle to step in and protect Tom Brady. Andrew Thomas should be the man to do it.

More from Commanders Draft News

Thomas is experienced, versatile, and has the highest floor of any tackle in this class. I considered mocking him at No. 4 overall to the Giants, but ultimately settled on Wirfs. This about represents Thomas’ floor and given that he has experience at left and right tackle, the Bucs will be able to use him on either side of the line and watch him blossom into one of the better, more consistent blockers at the next level.

15. Denver Broncos: WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama. Ah, the Alabama run. One of my favorite points in any mock draft! Jeudy is the third Alabama player off the board in the past four picks of this mock. The Broncos need a receiver, but if the top three are off the board here, they could look somewhere else.

Luckily for them, Jeudy is still available. Jeudy isn’t getting as much love as Lamb and Ruggs, but he is the best receiver in this class for my money. He’s an elite route runner, has good speed, and can do a lot with the ball in his hands. Between Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant, and Jeudy, Drew Lock will have a lot of receiving weapons to target in 2020.

16. Arizona Cardinals (via ATL): DT Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina. What a great value for Arizona. Kinlaw could go as high as the eighth overall pick, but he falls to this point as a result of other positions in this draft being elevated.

Kinlaw is a great interior rusher who would pair well long-term with last year’s third-round pick, Zach Allen, in Arizona’s 3-4 defense. With the two of them wreaking havoc in the middle, Chandler Jones should only get more productive at cleaning up on the edge.
