1. player. 56. . Quarterback. Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow

This pick is locked in. Joe Burrow is going to be the next quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Last season, Burrow completed 76.3 percent of his passes for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns, and just six interceptions while adding 368 yards and five scores on the ground. He won the Heisman, helped LSU win a national championship, and went from a potential mid-round pick to the probable No. 1 overall selection.

Here’s what I said about Burrow’s skill set in my most recent NFL mock draft.

"Burrow has a solid arm and is a hyper-accurate thrower. His ball placement last season was insanely good and he rarely ever misfired on a throw. His ability to avoid mistakes in key moments did a lot to keep the Tigers competitive. And when adding in his very good mobility and his ability to throw on the run, Burrow looks like a sure bet to succeed at the NFL level. The only drawback with Burrow is that he was somewhat of a one-year wonder. As such, it may take him a bit longer than expected to develop at the NFL level. But his ceiling is still sky-high and even if he’s not excellent out of the gate, he should still be a solid starter."

There’s no need to spend too much time overthinking this. It will be interesting to see how Burrow fares as a starter and if he can truly become the next star quarterback. He has a Drew Brees-like ceiling and could bring the Bengals success early if it doesn’t take him too long to develop.
