Redskins 2020 NFL 7-round mock draft: Literally all defense
By Ian Cummings
Redskins 7-round defensive mock recap
So, seven rounds later, we’ve literally used every single pick on the Redskins draft board on defensive players. Let’s see how the defensive unit stacks up now:
Redskins Defense
DE: Chase Young, Montez Sweat, Ryan Kerrigan, Ryan Anderson
DL: Daron Payne, Matt Ioannidis, Jonathan Allen, Tim Settle, Caleb Brantley, Teair Tart
LB: Thomas Davis, Cole Holcomb, Reuben Foster (PUP), Shaun Dion Hamilton, Mohamed Barry, Sam Franklin
CB: Fabian Moreau, Noah Igbinoghene, Kendall Fuller (DB), Ronald Darby, Michael Ojemudia, Jimmy Moreland
FS: Sean Davis, Deshazor Everett, Troy Apke
SS: Landon Collins, Terrell Burgess (DB), Jeremy Reaves
I see two things to be excited about: One, the defensive line, which is now an absolutely monstrous unit with Chase Young, Montez Sweat, and Ryan Kerrigan rotating on the edge, with Daron Payne, Matt Ioannidis, and Jonathan Allen on the inside. And two, the secondary, where several players — Kendall Fuller, Noah Igbinoghene, Terrell Burgess — can fulfill multiple roles, and do so with competence. Igbinoghene is also an elite athlete who’s just 20 years old, so he can be the alpha cover man the team is currently lacking. They now have talent, depth, and versatility in a secondary that had much less before this haul.
