Round 4, Pick 108: WR Van Jefferson, Florida

This 108th overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft has so many potential outcomes for this Redskins front office. There are a couple of defensive backs projected to still be available at this time, and even some solid offensive line talent will still be here come the early fourth round.

But if they don’t select a wide receiver before this, I believe getting a skill position player is the most likely outcome.

And a pick that is both great value and a great fit in Washington is wide receiver Van Jefferson out of the University of Florida.

More from Commanders Draft News

Jefferson is one of the best route runners in this 2020 NFL Draft. The Gator has elite footwork, technique, and fluidity when making moves and appears to have passed his route-running course with flying colors.

Jefferson is a good RAC receiver who can play all over the field as both an outside receiver and a slot receiver. He accumulated nearly 800 yards after the catch in his four-year collegiate career, and that helps to make him a proven commodity at his position.

Jefferson will be one of the sleepers of this upcoming draft. Due to him being an older draft pick, athletically and potential-wise, he’s about maxed out at this point.

The ‘Skins won’t be looking for Van to be their go-to receiver, but he’ll be one who can fill in primarily at the Z spot and even get some potential slot work due to his great RAC and route-running ability.

Jefferson has a lot of tools to become one of the more solid wide receivers in the NFL. With a 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame and a solid skillset, Jefferson could be another impact receiver the Redskins land in the middle rounds, just as they did with Jamison Crowder and Terry McLaurin.
