Round 1, Pick 2: EDGE Chase Young, Ohio State:

Yup. What do you want me to say that you already don’t know? The Redskins, if they add Chase Young will have an elite defensive line. Arguably, the best in pro football. The depth on the D-line will be insane.

You’ll go from having edge rushers Montez Sweat and Chase Young, to guys like Ryan Anderson & Ryan Kerrigan. On the interior, you’ll have Daron Payne and Jon Allen, with rotational pieces like Matt Ioannidis and Caleb Brantley. That’s a truly elite core of defensive lineman that’ll set you up for having one of the best pass-rushing and run-stopping defensive lines in all of the game.

Young has an impact on games, that I’ve mentioned before is Sean Taylor-esque. Young’s mountain of accomplishments at the collegiate level, his upper echelon technique, footwork, bend, and versatility make him one of the greatest prospects many scouts have ever seen.

Young will be the perennial All-Pro the Redskins have not had in decades. He should be the greatest talent to ever put on a burgundy and gold uniform should he live up to the hype that many people are guaranteeing he will. This is the pick. The Maryland native will be coming home to the DMV.
