Why the Redskins absolutely should draft Chase Young

The final case for Chase
You don’t just need a good pass rush for this sudden turnaround. You need a scary, dominant, devastating pass rush. You need the kind that has Payne collapsing the pocket, while Allen and Ioannidis push from the outside. You need a pass rush where Montez Sweat is your second best edge rusher. Where Chase Young is wreaking havoc and occupying two or three linemen at a time.
Maybe the two Ryans pick up the scraps. Maybe Landon Collins sneaks up a little more with Sean Davis available to cover the back end. With Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio running things, this defense will not be shy about applying pressure. But you better be as sure as possible about improving your pass rush.
So I don’t totally rule out the Simmons plan. I just don’t think it‘s the best move. Nor do I think it is likely. When it comes to applying pressure, Chase Young is as good a prospect coming in as either Bosa, on a level with Von Miller or Khalil Mack – players who instantly elevated their teams.
Maybe not a no-brainer. But then again, it looks like most signs point toward Young being the better option.
