Minnesota Vikings. Kristan Fulton. 22. player. 60. . Cornerback

Ian: The Vikings really, really need a cornerback with one of their first-round picks. They lost their three starters from last season in free agency, which is honestly almost impressive. Sometimes new beginnings are needed. Xavier Rhodes wasn’t great in 2019, Trae Waynes has never been great, and Mackensie Alexander was expendable with Mike Hughes in the wings.

Still, with Hughes coming up to be a starter, the Vikings need more utility on the back end, and that can be provided by Kristian Fulton at this juncture. Fulton is a solid cornerback who got some buzz as a top cornerback prospect last year, before ultimately returning to school for his final season.

Fulton doesn’t have as much length as other cornerbacks in this class, but he’s an extremely fluid mover with good instincts and coverage ability in both man-to-man and zone looks. He offers a high floor for Minnesota, a kind of security they could use, as they fight to remain in the playoff race in 2020.
