Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow. 1. player. 56. . Quarterback

Jacob Camenker: This pick is all but locked in. The Bengals need a quarterback to replace Andy Dalton, and it appears that Joe Burrow will be the guy to do so.

Burrow had a rapid ascension in his final year at LSU. Originally expected to be a mid-round pick, Burrow put together an unbelievable season and led the Tigers to a National Championship. He completed 76.3 percent of his passes for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. And on the ground, he added 368 yards and five scores.

In short, those numbers are insane. And they’re indicative of Burrow’s potential at the next level.

Burrow has a good enough arm for the NFL, but his main calling card is his accuracy. He threw with pinpoint precision in Steve Ensminger and Joe Brady’s offense and his ball placement was excellent. He helped make all the players around him better and there was never a moment that he made any crushing mistake to hurt the squad.

Beyond his arm talent, Burrow has good mobility and by all accounts, he seems to be a good leader. He has franchise quarterback potential for sure and well could emerge as the best passer in this class.

There is only one major concern with Burrow. He was a one-year wonder at LSU and his rise coincided with the arrival of Brady. Could he struggle without Brady? It’s possible, but the fact is that Burrow is still talented and Zac Taylor should be able to get the most out of him.

Burrow is an ideal replacement for Andy Dalton and should be the quarterback of the future in Cincinnati. It may take him time to develop at the next level and build on his success during his final year at LSU, but if he can continue to make strides, he should be a great starting option for years to come.
