It’s April Fools Day, and we’re not here to trick you. But we are here to see that these three moves would be the worst kind of April Fools joke if the Redskins pull them off.

Happy April 1, ladies and gentlemen. After a long month of March, we’re finally onto what hopes to be a better month and one that still has plenty of NFL excitement.

NFL free agency has mostly slowed to a crawl, but there are still a number of big-name players out there. Notably, Jadeveon Clowney and Cam Newton have yet to find homes and while the Washington Redskins aren’t likely to consider either, there are still plenty of depth options the team could target moving forward.

However, the main event in April will be the 2020 NFL Draft which has not been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it will take place in a studio-show format instead of taking place in Las Vegas as it was supposed to. The Redskins are armed with the No. 2 overall pick and the draft is deep at a number of positions including quarterback, offensive tackle, and wide receiver.

Because of the draft and the potential of adding some remaining low-cost players on the free-agent market, there is some excitement surrounding what the ‘Skins might be able to do this month. That said, there are some moves that they certainly shouldn’t make… unless they were planning to announce them today as a way to try to pull an April Fools fast one on us.

Of course, that won’t be the case and the team won’t try to do anything to trick the masses. But here’s a look at three decisions they could make this April that would be better off only being April Fools jokes.
