No. 1 – Auburn CB Noah Igbinoghene

There isn’t a lot of tape available on Auburn cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, but the tape that is available is awe-inspiring.

Igbinoghene is a unique cornerback prospect, in that he just recently switched from wide receiver. Much like former Redskins standout Quinton Dunbar, Igbinoghene has mounted this transition, and he enters the NFL still learning the nuances of the position. This makes his projection even more exciting, because what’s already on tape is enough to warrant a trade up.

Igbinoghene has good size and length, and he couples it with elite athleticism and an ultra-aggressive mentality as a playmaker. His play speed is searing, and while he doesn’t have the ball production just yet, he consistently inhabited receivers’ hip pockets in college, and has the athletic profile and receiver background to translate that to the NFL.

Igbinoghene was one of the few prospects lucky enough to have a pro day this cycle, and at that pro day, he posted a 4.43 40-yard dash, a 40-inch vertical, and a 127-inch broad jump. He’s a super explosive athlete, and his physical potential gives him tremendous upside at the next level.

Igbinoghene might grade out as a Top 20 prospect for me, but his lack of experience (Just 20 years old) and production should cause him to hit Round 2. If he does, the Redskins absolutely need to capitalize on that opportunity.
