The Redskins have been smart in free agency so far, but their attempts to be aggressive have yielded no results.

There were earlier reports that the Washington Redskins were all-in on Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper, so much so that they were willing to offer $22 million a year. Cooper declined, leaving Washington empty-handed.

Days later, the Redskins still have yet to make their “splash”, and it’s fair to wonder if they will under Ron Rivera. Their biggest signing thus far was Kendall Fuller, as the Redskins inked him to a deal with an annual value of $10 million. Every other deal has been below $5 million a year, with many measuring closer to $2.5 million.

The fan reaction to Washington’s methodical approach is peculiar; for years, Vinny Cerrato and Bruce Allen were detriments due to their reckless spending, among other things, but some almost seem to expect the excitement of that approach now.

That said, while the Redskins free agency period has not been “exciting” just yet, there are still some players on the board who can help change that. Here are five specific available options who could immediately take the mantle of “biggest signing”.
