The league year is set to start as scheduled, and for the Redskins, that’s a good sign.

It’s a sign that the Washington Redskins can finally get started with the next phase of the rebuild Ron Rivera was assigned to enact. Rivera first purged the coaching staff, then got rid of cumbersome contracts on the roster. And now, with over $60 million in cap space, he turns to free agency, where the Redskins have many holes to fill.

While in past years, the Redskins’ intentions may have been spilled before the legal tampering date, things have been relatively quiet this offseason. There have been rumors, but there’s little indication as to how the Redskins will spend their heap of cash.

That said, we can still follow the bread crumbs and make judgements as to how the Redskins might go about attacking the market. Here are five specific players to watch as legal tampering kicks off, and as the free negotiation period grows ever closer.
