Arizona Cardinals

I wasn’t originally going to have the Cardinals on this list because of the contract that they paid D.J. Humphries ahead of free agency. But the team is reportedly among the teams interested in trading for Williams, so they will qualify for this list.

The Cardinals definitely need help on their offensive line. Kyler Murray was sacked a league-high 48 times as a rookie despite his great mobility. The team lacks anything on the interior line and doesn’t have anything at right tackle.

Williams would fix the latter problem. He could slot in on the right side and give the Cards a solid, albeit injury-prone, tackle duo. The team could also opt to flip Humphries over to the right side if they think he’d be a better fit over there and keep Williams at his more natural left tackle spot.

The Cardinals could offer up a package centered around the 40th overall pick in the draft. They could make the move to acquire Williams which would free them up to avoid drafting a tackle at No. 8 overall. There, they could target one of the best defensive players available (DL Derrick Brown and CB Jeffrey Okudah could be on the board) or they could go after a receiver like Jerry Jeudy to give Murray a true No. 1 receiver. That may intrigue them, so going after Williams certainly can’t be ruled out.

We’ll see if the Cardinals continue to show interest in Williams. If they want to get the most out of their first two picks, acquiring him could be a solid course of action.
