The Washington Redskins are letting Trent Williams seek out a trade. Here are some teams that could use the star tackle’s services.

The Washington Redskins finally seem ready to let Trent Williams move on. After a feud that has dragged on for nine months, the team is reportedly letting him seek out a potential trade ahead of 2020 NFL free agency.

At this point in time, this is a prudent course of action for the ‘Skins. Williams missed all of last season amid a holdout related to a “medical scare” he dealt with during the offseason and is also likely due a pay raise over the $12.5 million he is set to make this year. The team doesn’t seem willing to pay him a top-dollar deal at tackle, so trying to offload him for assets is the right choice.

The 2020 NFL Draft class is strong at tackle. And several players on the free-agent market will interest teams as well. But Williams is a proven veteran and perennial Pro Bowler who is one of the league’s best tackles when healthy. After a year off, he may be refreshed and ready to go and at the very least, he should be a strong starter.

There are quite a few teams that could have an interest in trading for Williams. Here’s a look at the ones that stand out the most and what they might be willing to pay in any trade for Williams.

It’s worth noting that there will be some teams interested in Williams’ services that simply can’t afford to trade for him due to salary cap issues. Those include teams like the Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, and Jacksonville Jaguars
