Desperate for an upgrade and a veteran presence at the wide receiver position, the Washington Redskins will be heavy buyers this off-season. Could one of those buys be Pro Bowl receiver, Amari Cooper?

It is no secret that the Redskins will have an upwards of $60 million in cap space this off-season.

It’s also no secret, this organization is looking for a quick turnaround into consistent relevancy and playoff contention for years to come.

Surely, the Redskins will be looking to add talent at just about every single position on the roster, this same roster that has had an obvious lack of elite talent for the past 20 years. The Ron Rivera regime will be looking to buy big on established talent at skill-positions and all positions around.

With a report coming from Kevin Sheehan of The Team 980 on Wednesday morning that the Redskins will be interested in Amari Cooper should he hit free agency, it’s clear that the Redskins are looking to revamp what was one of the leagues worst offenses last year. And that will include finally bringing big play ability and and consistency to the wide receiver spot.

Cooper is a guy who fits that mold perfectly. He is one of the league’s premier route-runners and big playmakers. And he could fill the void that exists in those areas for the Redskins.

The Redskins need playmakers; they need elite players at skill-positions; they need to bring as much help as they can offensively to help the development of Dwayne Haskins flow as free and smooth as possible.

So, a deal for Amari Cooper should be a no brainer… right?
