With the league’s new year set to begin in mid-March, the Washington Redskins have a whole lot of cap space to go along with the ideal draft position.

For a team that has a ton of needs, who are the three must-sign free agent targets that can lift this Washington Redskins team into playoff status?

The nation’s capital is hungry for a winner. As Redskins football has been far from that over the past 20 some-odd years, the organization that has been drowning in misery looks to right all the wrongs of the past with an entirely new mission come 2020.

With what is looking to be an upwards of $46 million to begin the free agency period, with several cuts and roster changes that can give this organization close to $100 million in cap space, the Redskins can transition from being multiple pieces away to being one player away from a contender.

With what is the 2nd overall draft pick in this year’s 2020 NFL Draft, and a ton of holes on this roster, there’s a plethora of big-time needs for the Burgundy and Gold.

With some big-time positions being filled out for next season like quarterback, interior defensive line, strong safety, wide receiver, and lastly cornerback, this team picked a solid free agency class to have adequate cap space for, and also to rack up depth and perfect fits for Riverboat Ron’s 2020 Redskins.

The question is, who will be the three “must-sign” free agency targets who can bring the Washington Redskins from the bottom of the barrel to the top of the food chain?

Here are the criteria:

  • Fit
  • Realistic acquisition
  • Awareness of salary cap situation
  • Age
  • Future Outlook
  • Year-to-Year progression, potential regression
