No. 3 – South Team QB Justin Herbert

The Redskins aren’t in the market for a quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft. But for the #TradeBack people, Justin Herbert’s big week is big news.

Herbert capped off an excellent Senior Bowl week with an impressive performance in the game. He delivered a 75 percent completion percentage while throwing for 83 yards and a touchdown, and he also produced on the ground, to the tune of 22 extra yards.

More importantly than statistical evidence, Herbert showed off all of his upside on Sunday. The arm talent was there, as was the athleticism, and Herbert’s strong showing only cemented his status as a riser. By the end of the draft process, he could be getting top five hype.

Opinions are still a bit widespread on Herbert, but he’s essentially a consensus first-rounder, and all it takes is two quarterback-needy teams to like him or Tua Tagovailoa to create a bidding war that could lead up to the No. 2 pick. A lot has to happen for Washington to trade down, including them passing on Chase Young. But Herbert having a good day helps that scenario’s chances.
