Standouts from the East-West Shrine Game that Redskins could target
If you like receivers with size, then you’re going to like Binjimen Victor. And he looked good for the West squad during Sunday’s game.
Victor made a couple of catches for the squad but the one that best showed off his skills was a 36-yard touchdown off a flea-flicker. The West operated the trick play in the hopes of sparking their offense and Mason Fine layed up a pass for Victor.
On the play, Alabama safety Shyheim Carter was one of two players in coverage and looked poised to make the interception. Instead, Victor flashed across the face of Carter just in time and went up to catch the ball. He did so smoothly.
The play showed off Victor’s two best traits. His 6-foot-4 size and ball-tracking abilities. Those skills should translate well to the NFL and he could have a shot at developing into a possession receiver at the NFL level.
The Redskins could use some extra receiving depth even despite the plethora of young talent on their team. Perhaps Dwayne Haskins will convince them to consider Victor late in the draft to compete for a backup role on the outside.
Victor is coming off a senior season that saw him post career-highs in catches (35) and yardage (573) while also scoring six touchdowns.
