It’s #DraftSZN, the season of perpetual optimism for Redskins fans.

January to July is the honeymoon period; the time where Washington Redskins fans can unabashedly imagine best-case scenarios in the 2020 NFL Draft and beyond. The Redskins will have a perfect draft, and every pick will pan out. Go ahead, say it. No one can prove you wrong right now.

There is, of course, reason for actual optimism. The Redskins hired Ron Rivera to overhaul the culture, and his staff hires have been sensible, if uninspiring. Kyle Smith is also still in the front office for now, and he’s done a great job evaluating draft talent in recent years.

Smith will ultimately be busy tonight, as LSU and Clemson, two of the most talented college football teams in the nation, duke it out for the National Championship trophy. Seasoned football fans will watch for the football alone, but you, a Redskins fan, need a jersey or two to keep an eye on. Perhaps a future starter for your NFL team.

To fulfill your needs, here’s a quick list of five specific draft prospects to watch in tonight’s championship spectacle. Go Tigers! Which ones? We’re not sure!

Honorable Mention: LSU EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson, Clemson WR Tee Higgins, LSU S Grant Delpit, LSU CB Kristian Fulton, Clemson RB Travis Etienne, LSU RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Clemson S K’Von Wallace
