3. What will the power dynamic in the front office be?

This is a pressing question but it’s one that might not be answered until we really get to the glut of the offseason.

With Bruce Allen out, the Redskins now have a hole atop the front office. The team still has a few solid executives in power including Eric Schaffer, a contract wizard, Doug Williams, a good scout who has done well helping with the draft, and Kyle Smith, the man behind the last two drafts classes for the Redskins.

But how will the pecking order among those three shake out? And how will Rivera play into their dynamic? That will need to be hammered out in the coming months.

More from Commanders News

It’s worth noting that there have been rumblings and reports that Schaffer could be out in May despite the fact that there were positive reports surrounding him earlier in the offseason. But it’s also worth noting that the team could still be trying to figure out exactly how they want things to work with a new voice in the building.

When it’s all said and done, it will be on Rivera to figure out a way to fit in with these three executives and others in the Redskins front office. It’s going to be a process but if all try in earnest, it should work out. And it sounds like Rivera is absolutely willing to do that.

This will be something to watch in the coming months. It will be interesting to see if the Redskins elect to bring in any outside help at any point or if they interview any executives for front office positions. The dynamic here will surely be important to figure out.
