Ron Rivera is just getting started as the Washington Redskins head coach. He has some pressing questions to answer off the bat and should look to do so in short order.

We all saw the press conference. It was a thing of beauty. Ron Rivera addressed the Redskins fans and media with poise and confidence. He clearly believes he has come to the right place and he has one goal moving forward.

He wants to win.

Obviously, any coach anywhere wants to win. But the way that Rivera phrased his message was so refreshing. He spoke of his ultimate goal, winning a Super Bowl, but didn’t declare outright he was going to take the team there in an allotted period of time. He acknowledged that he has to win the trust of the fans who he essentially referred to as rightfully disgruntled.

In short, it seems like Ron Rivera knows what he’s doing. And that’s something that all Redskins fans were hoping to see from their newest head coach.

And now, Rivera will get to work in trying to shape the team and organization into a winner. There will be no big step to make sure that happens. But moving forward, Rivera will have to answer a few questions about his team with his actions. And here’s a look at the three biggest ones he’ll have to answer off the bat.
